The Five Demands, Not One Less
Protesters lift their palm wide open during a demonstration to show support for the human rights bill. This gesture represents the Hong Kong protesters’ main slogan, “the five demands, not one less.”

First Aid
Medical volunteers assist and help injured demonstrators. One volunteer is keeping an eye on the demonstration to see if anyone requires medical assistance.

At the protest site, a young Hong Konger is handing people water bottles and food. “We’re doing everything we can,” he says.

A flag is hung on the pedestrian bridge as the march continues. It reads “Trust CCP? Seriously?”

The MTR logo has been covered in red paint. Since the August of 2019, protesters have been criticizing and attacking the Hong Kong Metro, claiming that it is collaborating with the Hong Kong government.
Citizens at Chater Garden
September 8, 2019. Many Hong Kongers gathered in Chater Garden to show their support for the Human Rights Law legislation. The place is packed, but more people are arriving.
“Power to the people”
At Chater Garden, one Hong Konger is holding a sign that says “Power to the people”.
Lady Liberty Hong Kong
Hong Kongers erected a Staute of Liberty for Hong Kong and placed it at the center of Chater Garden. Lady Liberty Hong Kong is clutching an umbrella with her right hand and a banner that reads “Liberate Hong Kong, a Revolution of Our Times” in her left hand.
